The call

I cant get over the awe of God whenever I read the story of the man that spent his life putting together substance and expanding his earnings and just as he assured himself that its time enjoy his substances, God said "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee" Luke 12:20. and Jesus asked " then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?" really, whose will they be. I have seen a man that died a week after he inherited great riches from his father, he never lived to spend a dime of it.

Its normal, in any case, to want to be rich, influential, want to have a good social standing and all that. whats not normal is getting carried away trying to achieve this things. you see, God wants us to store treasure up in heaven "
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Mathew 6:19. fulfilling purpose is all about being able to draw the line between serving God and yourself. you have to be able to weigh your desire and tell yourself that desire does not surpass your will to make heaven, to wear a crown along with Christ.

The Bible goes on and on how to be wise in being a child of God, on how to follow Christ on how not to confuse working for God with our own works and personal gain, we all have a common calling of the lord and it's to show our brothers the light and the way, we must all do the work of an evangelist. "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry" 2 Timothy 4:5. lets look at it this way, if we are of the light and that light cannot be shared or given as a lead to others, then we have no proof of such light.

Back to the story of the rich guy, I thought of it and it wasn't that God wanted to be a bad man or anything, it was just that the man wasn't just into God's calling right until his time was up. Imagine what he could have achieved if he had channeled all that energy into the calling of God even if he was to be called home at that self same moment, am sure God wont call him a fool. Jesus concludes the story by saying "So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." Luke 12:21.

It's not enough to just keep giving money or substance and say "use it for the work of God" or say "for the building of God's House" yes, its important that a ministry moves forward by cheerful giving but its not right for the giver to assume the calling has been fullfilled by so doing

So, Today, Make up your Mind, it doesn't cost a thing, do not be ashamed, its a honour to be involved in the calling of the Lord.
